Prey Gets New Video Centered Around Protagonist Morgan Yu
Today, developer Arkane Studios and publisher Bethesda released a new Prey video that is centered around protagonist Morgan Yu.
As you may know, Morgan Yu can be either male or female, depending on which version you choose to play as at the start of game. According to Arkane, this was done in order to enable the player to identify with Yu as much as possible.
Further, Arkane was careful to not impose personalities on Yu, as it wanted the player to define who he or she is through their choices and actions. Do you rescue the survivors aboard Talos I? Do you choose to install more or less alien based powers altering your humanity? How will you go about surviving againts the Typhon aliens hunting you? Every decision you make is said to possess the potential to reverberate throughout the entire game, and how you tackle each of these decisions will alter your version of Yu and the ending of the game.
Lead Systems Designer Seth Shain adds:
“What Morgan does to respond to the aliens invading the station matters. All of these things contribute to different permutations of end games that we have, so it matters that way. But it also matters how the other characters respond to you and how they treat you. And it’s exactly what will define Morgan in the end.”
Prey is set to launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 5, 2017. Additionally, if you decide to preorder the game you will receive the bonus DLC called the Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack. The Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack includes the Margrave shotgun (a Yu family heirloom), along with three Neuromods (used to acquire new abilities), two medkits, a unique upgrade, and more.
