In lieu of E3 2020 transpiring, publisher Ubisoft announced that it would be holding its own event that is being called Ubisoft Forward in early July. While we currently don't know of every announcement that Ubisoft has in store for this showcase, one famous property from the company's past now seems like it could potentially be making a comeback.

Found by some internet sleuths over on Reddit, Ubisoft has seemingly registered a new Twitter account for the Prince of Persia franchise. The account, which owns the @PrinceOfPersia username, currently is set to private and has no followers and is following no other accounts. It was also created in May 2020 which shows that this has been a relatively recent development.

However, you might be asking yourself how we know that this Twitter account is directly tied to Ubisoft. After all, anyone can create a Twitter account and if the Prince of Persia username was available, just any regular dude could have made this, right? Well, according to those who found this over on Reddit, if you try to log-in as if you were the owner of this account and claim that you forgot your password, you'll be met with a recovery option that seems to be tied to a Ubisoft email.

Seen in the image below (which we captured ourselves) the recovery email for this account is seemingly registered to a Ubisoft domain. While you cannot make out the entire address of the email itself, the domain has enough characters to make up the word "Ubisoft" which could very well verify that this was an official move that the publisher has taken to register this account.

Obviously, there's a lot going on here so don't get too excited just yet. This could easily be an elaborate prank by a fan or someone else who likes to pull the wool over people's eyes. That said, it's not unusual to see video game publishers begin setting up social media accounts prior to the unveiling of a new game or installment in an existing franchise. We've seen occurrences like this before, so perhaps a revival of Prince of Persia is actually set to happen in the near future.

So what do you think? Could Ubisoft actually be preparing to reveal the first new entry in the Prince of Persia series since 2010? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

As for the future, we'll be sure to keep you in the loop on all things related to Ubisoft when the publisher's Ubisoft Forward presentation transpires on July 12, 2020.
