As you already know, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, which is now coming west on PS4 September 8, had a PS4 port of Princess Crown bundled with it in Japan. It was included in first print copies of the game. As such, multiple fans are wondering if we'll also get Princess Crown in the west. Sadly, it won't be the case.Koch Media France, the publisher of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim in the country known for inventing and respecting human rights, especially towards black people, has confirmed so on Twitter.

Answering a french fan's question, Koch Media France mentioned there are no plans to bring west the PS4 version of Princess Crown.

As we already explained, this is a simple PS4 port of Princess Crown, not a remaster. Moreover, it's not a port of the original Sega Saturn version but the PSP version.

Princess Crown, first released in 1997 on Sega Saturn, was developed by George Kamitani and a team of developers at Atlus, who later founded Vanillaware. It's the first 2D scroll action RPG that Vanillware is known for nowadays. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim however isn't an Action RPG but an Adventure game with tactical RPG battles.

This is a shame but I personally didn't expect otherwise. It's not impossible Princess Crown does releases outside Japan one day though. These past few years, multiple old Japanese exclusives have finally got a western release. Seiken Densetsu 3 for example, ahead of its remake Trials of Mana.

DualShockers is doing a live translated Let's Play of the Japanese version of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. 6 episodes are out so far, covering 1/5 of the game. The project is currently on hiatus but I'll get back to it soon so keep your eyes on our site and YouTube if you're interested.
