Earlier this year, Professor Layton's daughter, Katrielle received her own spin-off title in the form of Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy for Nintendo 3DS and mobile devices. Those who enjoyed the game and would like to see Layton's daughter in the spotlight some more, you soon will be able to! Earlier today, an anime series was confirmed by the Professor Layton series publisher and developer Level-5.

According to the publisher, the new anime series titled Layton Mystery Detective Agency: Kat’s Mystery-Solving Files is set to premiere sometime in the Spring of 2018. The anime will supposedly take place after the events of the game and will star the titular heroine from the latest installment as she solves the mysterious cases that occur each day in London with help from her anthropomorphic dog, Sherl and her assistant Ernest Greeves. Additionally, the anime will also introduce new characters into the franchise.

According to a recent report from publication Anime News Network, Katrielle will be played by veteran voice actress Kana Hanazawa (Infini-T ForceMarch comes in like a lion). Meanwhile, the anime will have Level 5's CEO Akihiro Hino (Yōkai Watch, Time Bokan 24) as creative director, Susumu Mitsunaka (Haikyu!!, Cuticle Detective Inaba) as director.
