Apple has announced that Professor Layton and the Curious Village will be coming to the App Store in the West and to stay tuned for more information.

This was the first game in the Professor Layton series and was developed by Level-5 and released for the Nintendo DS in February of 2007. It later came to North America one year later and has been available on mobile devices in Japan beginning on June 8, 2018. This mobile version of the game includes higher resolution graphics, additional cutscenes, and included "EXHD for Smartphone" in the title. It currently costs 1,200 yen or approximately $10.00 USD.

Apple is holding an event on September 12, so we may get more information then. This will be the first of the mainline Professor Layton games to come to iOS in the West, as the only other two are the Layton Brothers: Mystery Room from 2013 and Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy from 2017.
