Project Aces Hints More to Return of the Ace Combat Series to the Classic Fictional Setting

Ace Combat fans have another reason to rejoice today, as Project Aces and Namco Bandai dropped another hint to the possibility of the series abandoning the unfortunate real world experiment of Assault Horizon and going back to the classic fictional setting Strangereal.

A new teaser line appeared on the official website: <<All engines on Kottos 2 destroyed!>>

The P-1113 Kottos was a gigantic electronic warfare airship belonging to the Estovakian Aerial Fleet and appeared in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.

Of course this could also means that the upcoming title is a sequel or a remake of AC6, but I would chalk a remake as unlikely as the url of the website says “new title”. In addition to this, the brackets around the sentence are blue, meaning that the “radio message” is supposed to come from an ally, hinting to the fact that the player may get to play on the Estovakian side this time around.

According to a trademark search the new Ace Combat game should be titled Ace Combat Infinity.
