Project Awakening May Get Demo Soon According to New Rating
Project Awakening, a title Cygame revealed in 2016 and only released a handful of teasers trailers for, might be getting a playable demo.
Twitter user Renka_schedule posted some big news on their latest status update. According to the tweet, Cygames’ PS4 exclusive Project Awakening: Arise has been registered with Europe’s PEGI. Not only that but the rating description itself is what holds all the juicy details — it seems that there may be a demo coming out for the super long awaited title.
According to the text: “This trial version will allow players to get a taste of the combat and action available from Project Awakening, an action role-playing game featuring photorealistic graphics.”

During last E3 2018 Cygames showcased for DualShockers a brief teaser of the game. Unfortunately at the time, besides the fact that it featured an unnamed hero and a dragon, and looked extremely impressive visually. That shouldn’t be too surprising, considering that the man behind the tech is Tago Junji, former Kojima Productions Technical Director, and one of the men behind the creation of the Fox Engine.
Soon after that, Cygames released a direct feed trailer for the title and then debuted the semi-secret trailer shown during that same E3. The game appears to be a mix between a western-style RPG and Japanese-style action combat. That being said, it still seemed to be very early in development.
Just recently Kenichiro Takaki, director of the Consumer Division, also spoke about how Cygames strives to become the best game studio in the world. As proof of their efforts, he mentioned that the Project Awakening trailer revealed at the PlayStation LineUp Tour, right before Tokyo Games Show 2018, wasn’t prerecorded but running on an actual “PS4 machine.”
Hopefully this news pans out and we’ll be on our way to playing an actual gameplay demo of this elusive game.
