Sega of America announced on the birthday of Vocaloid Hatsune Miku, August 31, that Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku is getting an English release in 2022. The game was renamed Hatsune Miku: COLORFUL STAGE! for the occasion.

First released on September 30, 2020, in Japan on iOS and Android, Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku is a free-to-play rhythm game with gacha elements. The game also includes several ADV phases (visual novel) and focuses on 20 original characters in total, divided into five different music bands.

One of the biggest appeals of the game in my opinion is that it mixes male and female characters. Just like Vocaloid itself in fact. As Hatsune Miku isn't the sole one featured in Colorful Stage. Kagamine Rin and Len, Megurine Luka, KAITO, and MEIKO are also there as Virtual Singers. Each one of them support a specific band, along with an alternate version of Miku.

Developed by Craft Egg and Colorful Palette, Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage is one of the mobile games with the highest production values out there. It could as well be a console game. Tons of new and old iconic Vocaloid songs are also included. Such as Otome Kaibou by Deco*27 (pronounced Deco Nina) or World's End Dancehall by the late Wowaka. Keep reading for an intro of the five bands, the global version's trailer, and a message from the producer.
