Remember when I asked vice president of Radical Entertainment Dave Fracchia if any comics inspired the Prototype series? This time it's the other way around.

Activision announced today that Radical Entertainment and Dark Horse Comics teamed up for the release of a new comic series that will bridge the gap between Prototype and Prototype 2.

The comic series will be split in three chapters: the first chapter "The Anchor", illustrated by Paco Diaz, continues the story of Alex Mercer, the protagonist from the first game. The second chapter, "The Survivors", illustrated by Chris Staggs, follows a small group of residents of New York trying to escape the city after the outbreak of the Blacklight virus.  The third chapter, illustrated by Victor Drujiniu, is "The Labyrinth" and will give us deeper insight into the backstory of Prototype 2's new protagonist, James Heller.
