The Last of Us Remastered and MLB The Show 19 Are October's PlayStation Plus Games

The Last of Us Remastered and MLB The Show 19 will be PS Plus' free PS4 games for October 2019.

During today’s State of Play, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed PS Plus’ lineup for October 2019, and its a very solid one with two first-party games. The two free titles for next month are Sony San Diego’s MLB The Show 19 and Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Remastered.

October’s lineup continues a solid string of PS Plus titles that began a couple of months ago. Many fans were angered by the service after free PS3 and PS Vita games were taken off the lineup in March, and the original July 2019 lineup of indie game Horizon Chase Turbo and Konami’s PES 2019 was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back and caused Sony to start featuring more notable titles. They replaced PES with Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition that month, and delivered solid titles in August with Wipeout: Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4 and in September with Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III.

If Sony keeps this momentum going, the second half of 2019 could be one of the most amazing periods for PS Plus in a long time. MLB The Show 19 is a fairly recent first-party release as it came out in March, and its developers are giving away five free packs next month. The game being free in October makes sense as the MLB’s World Series begins next month. Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed The Last of Us Remastered being on PS Plus also makes sense considering that The Last of Us Part II just received a release date.

MLB The Show 19 and The Last of Us Remastered will be free via PS Plus from October 1 until November 4. A 12-month subscription can be picked up on Amazon.
