Today FuRyu update the official site of its JRPG Caligula with quite a lot of screenshots and information.
We get to see the main cast, and learn about the “catharsis effect” that causes them to radiate black energy that takes the form of a weapon that varies from person to person depending on their personality.

It’s possible to interact with all the 500 characters stuck in the virtual reality world of Moebius, each with their own personality and reasons. Interaction will cause their reactions towards the main character to change, and more will be discovered about their past.

Last, but not least, we also learn about the “Imaginary Chain” battle system, that will allow the player to visualize the effect of attacks beforehand via the character’s imagination.

Caligula will launch in Japan on June 23rd exclusively for PS Vita. The game’s scenario will be written by Tadashi Satomi, who also wrote the script of Persona and Persona 2.
