PS Vita JRPG Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment Gets New Screenshots and Details

November 7, 2013

Namco Bandai just released a new batch of details and screenshots on the upcoming PS Vita exclusive JRPG Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, that will hit the Japanese shelves next year.

While in the previous PSP game Infinity Moment battle was based on auto attack, in Hollow Fragment there will be a Burst Gauge, and attacks are assigned to the face buttons. As long as there’s burst energy left in the gauge it’s possible to attack continuously, and damage increases, but risk increases as well.

During the string of attacks is also possible to use a step move to avoid attacks. Players can do so in all directions: front, rear, left and right. That allows not only to dodge attacks, but also to run behind enemies to strike from the rear. The result is a much quicker and more tactical battle system compared to the previous game.

Below you can see a batch of screenshots, focusing on the battle system and on the beginning of the story, when Kirito meets a mysterious girl in the “Hollow Area”, placed in an unknown level of Aincrad. Because, you know… The dude didn’t have enough of a harem already…
