PS Vita System Software 3.50 Frees Up 30% More Memory for Games

April 13, 2015

It turns out the recently released 3.50 System Software update for the PS Vita did more than we realized, as explained in this slide spotted at Unite Tokyo 2015 by a user on NeoGaf.

It explains that the 3.50 update “allows for 30% more memory size usage with games.”

This increase is in available RAM, potentially allowing for more enemies or items on screen, possibly larger areas, and fewer loading screens.

While this likely won’t be overwhelmingly apparent in upcoming game releases, it will certainly help to create the best possible experience on the handheld.
