PS Vita Wi-Fi Model Suddenly Discontinued on Sony's Japanese Web Store, New Model Incoming?

Something seems to be afoot with the PS Vita in Japan, as Sony suddenly discontinued the sale of the basic Crystal Black version of the Wi-Fi PS Vita (PCH-1000 ZA01) on its Japanese web store. Strangely enough all the other colors (Cosmic Red and Sapphire Blue) and the 3G/Wi-Fi version are still available.

No explanation has been given for the move, but it’s sure interesting, especially since soon Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia will hold a press conference (on September the 9th) that might reveal big news for the portable.

We reached out to Sony Computer Entertainment in order to ask for their angle on the move, and will keep you updated if  we receive any relevant information straight from the source.

He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
