During the PlayStation Awards ceremony being held in Tokyo as I’m writing, Sony Computer Entertainment President and CEO Andrew House announced the PS4 Anniversary Edition.

The console has the same color scheme and multi-colored logo as the original PlayStation.

It will be sold at 49,980 yen/€ 499/$499 with a matching controller, camera, stand and monoaural headset. Only 12,300 numbered units will be made, to celebrate the 12/3 date.

Below you can see quite a few pictures and two videos (including a unboxing) released by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. The console will be available for purchase at PlayStation Experience this weekend.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
