PS4 Exclusive Deep Down Is Not Dead; Coming with a Completely Different Form and Larger Vision

Many have been wondering about the status of Capcom’s PS4 exclusive free to play online RPG Deep Down, and Producer Yoshinori Ono had reassuring words in a new interview on 4Gamer, actually promising surprises for the future.

It seems that Deep Down will take a little bit more time. Word on the street is that we canceled its development, but that’s not true (laughs).

Even if it may be a little further ahead, we would like to show off a completely different form from what we’ve shown before. In fact, the concept has become larger than what was first announced. Actually, the former design was probably not good.

Ono-san continued by mentioning that since online games are a long-term committment, if the online services are not properly developed, users will lose interest fast even if the game is fun. Since the development team suspected that the previous concept might not have held the interest of users for a long time, they’re going to take their time to enrich it further.

Personally, I’ve been very interested in Deep Down since its first announcement, and I can’t wait to finally get my hands on it. Yet, Rome wasn’t built in a day, so we’ll have to wait a bit more.
