PS4 Exclusive Driveclub Gets New DLC Car Screenshots, Info and a Dangerously Close Lightning Video (UPDATE)

on January 27, 2015 12:30 PM

If you want to see the last of five DLC cars coming later today (in the US, European users will have to wait for tomorrow) to Driveclub, Evolution Studios released three screenshots of the lovely McLaren 650S. You can enjoy them above and below.

On top of that, Evolution Studios explained that they’re planning to make changes to how drifting works soon. They also promised to look into the idea of a “quick race” mode with random track and cars.

Game Director Paul Rustchynsky also promised that leaderboards will be cleaned out of glitched lap times, while the studio is looking into addressing a rare bug that mutes all sound on one of the Japanese tracks.

What’s even more interesting, is a video brought to Rustchynsky attention by Youtube user thekie25. If you thought Lightning was just a background decoration in Driveclub‘s storms, think again, as it can strike dangerously close to the player. It most probably cause no damage, as it’s just a lighting effect, but it can definitely affect your focus.

Rustchynsky commented that since lighting effects are procedural, even he has never seen lightning strike that close. You can see it for yourself in the video at the bottom of the post.

Update: Evolution Studios also released a new trailer showcasing the new content for the whole month of January. You can see it at the bottom of the post.
