Today Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan and Asia hosted a Gravity Rush 2 event at the Ebisu Act Square venue in Tokyo, where Present Atsushi Morita finally announced the Japanese release date for the game, which is locally titled Gravity Daze 2.

SCE Japan Studio’s latest labor of love will hit the Japanese shelves on December 1st, as revealed by Twitter user Ars, who was in attendance at the event. We also learn that a new trailer was showcased, even if it hasn’t been published online yet.

Director Keeichiro Toyama also was on stage, providing a live demo of Gravity Rush 2‘s gameplay for the audience, and showcasing a new area.

More details were then provided about Gravity Rush 2: The Animation. It will be handled by Hideaki Anno’s Tokyo-based studio Khara, well known for its work on the Evangelion movies. It will serve as a connection between the two games.

A blu-ray of the anime will be included in the limited first print edition of the game in Japan, that will also include a “White Kat” costume DLC and a soundtrack for the same price as the standard edition: 6,900 yen plus taxes.

At the moment a western release date has not been announced yet, but hopefully it won’t be too far. Update: Western release dates have also been announced: you can find them here.
