NIS America released a new gameplay trailer of Kadokawa Games’ JRPG Metal Max Xeno.

The video showcases a battle among tanks, which is the bread and butter of the Metal Max franchise. While the game is fundamentally open-world in nature, once engaged an enemy the gameplay becomes the classic turn-based style that old-school JRPG fans tend to appreciate.

Metal Max Xeno marks the return of the old and glorious Metal Max franchise, that has been dormant for quite some time after bouncing around both Sony and Nintendo platforms, with a stop-and-go on mobile devices in Japan as well.

It will release in North America on September 25th and in Europe on September 28th. While it launched on PS Vita and PS4 in Japan, in the west it’ll be a PS4 exclusive.

You can check out the trailer below. If you want to see more, you can check out a semi-recent batch of screenshots, and the announcement trailer of the western release.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
