Today Koei Tecmo hosted a livestream on its popular PS4 exclusive action RPG NiOh, providing plenty of information on upcoming updates and content.

First of all, new "High difficulty missions" (ten different types) are scheduled to be released in late March. A new PvP feature will also come relatively soon, in late April.

Paid downloadable content will come starting in late April, with the first episode titled "The Dragon of Tohoku." The second and third will be released subsequently, titled "The Best Warrior in Japan" and "The country of Tranquillity." In the west, they'll be titled "Dragon of the North," "Defiant Honor" and "Bloodshed’s End."

The first DLC "The Dragon of Tohoku" will include new weapon types, a new scenario, new characters, new guardian spirits, new yokai and new areas.

On top of this, we learn that eligibility the early purchase bonus for Japan has been extended from February 22nd to March 1st.

While this is only about the Japanese version, it's definitely interesting due to the reason behind the decision: Koei Tecmo made the move to help out players that are unable to purchase a physical copy of the game, that remains very difficult to find in Japanese stores, after nearly selling out nationwide.

Looks like NiOh is doing quite well in Japan, and it's definitely deserved, as you can read in our full review.
