The newly announced Spider-Man by Insomniac Games certainly made ripples, causing excitement and speculation both due to the license involved and just how good it looked in the teaser we saw at E3. More information is trickling down via Insomniac's own Twitter account.First of all, we learn that the game runs on the studio's proprietary Insomniac Engine.

We also hear that the title will feature a "more experienced Spider-Man," and won't be an origin story.

A small misunderstanding caused some to ask whether Naughty Dog is involved with the development of the engine or, but it was quickly cleared. The house of Uncharted isn't pitching in with its technology know-how.
