PS4 Exclusive Valkyria: Azure Revolution Gets More Info on Vanargand Anti-Valkyria Unit

Today Sega released more snippets of information on the upcoming PS4 exclusive Valkyria: Azure Revolution, releasing in Japan this Winter.

We learn more about the anti-valkyria unit to which the protagonists belong, named Vanargand.

As the emblem suggests, Vanargand’s name is the same as the wolf of legend in Jutland’s folklore. The same wolf is also Jutland’s national animal and was adopted as a name with the idea of fighting a legend with a legend, since Vanargand’s purpose is top fight on part against the Valkyria. On top of that, the unit carries the hopes and expectations of the whole country.

Officers of the units carry Ragnite powered weapons. Due to the embargo, Ragnite reserves are scarce, and the weapons are built with what little is left. This is also an indication of how much the expectations of the whole country weigh on the unit’s performance.

In order to be able to Wield a Ragnite weapon, officers are thoroughly tested on their aptitude with magic and on their “ragnite affinity.”

Incidentally, we also get a tease on the remaining members of Vanargand, that are shown as shadows in the picture above, and still have not been revealed. Hopefully, we’ll know more soon. We’re also are still waiting for info on the second demo, that should be released later this summer.

He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
