PS4 Exclusive Valkyria: Azure Revolution Gets New Info on Maxim and Human Experimentation

Sega released some new information about Maxim, one of the main antagonists of Valkyria: Azure Revolution, slated for a Japanese release in the winter and a new demo later this summer.

Maxim, who was initially introduced a few months ago, is defined as a “formidable enemy,” who will stand in the way of the heroes several times. There is a rumor that he’s not a native son of the Rus Empire due to his dark skin, but his origins are wrapped in mystery. Yet, he was given an important place in the Empire military by grace of Emperor Claudius himself.

He can compete head to head in magical arts with Amleth, captain of Vanargand, and Maxim can be seen as the rival of the protagonist.

While this is also a rumor, many suspect that Maxim underwent a magical transplant operation, allowing him to gain superhuman strength.

While the members of Vanargand have magic embedded in their weapons, this operation embeds it directly in the human body, allowing them to wield overwhelming magical power thanks to science.

This brings forth suspicion of human experimentation happening in the Rus Empire. Since magic transplantation is a very unstable process, this kind of practice is widely considered inhumane, as many lose their life during the operation.
