Today Nippon Ichi Software released a batch of new screenshots and artwork of The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2, that will be released in Japan on February 23rd, 2017, exclusively for PS4.

We get a few pieces of information on “WR” which stands for “Weiss Ritter,” (White Knights in German) the institution dedicated to the eradication of the witch disease and of witches. They fight with the help of alchemy to “protect the people with absolute justice.”

Girls that have overcome the witch disease thanks to treatment imparted by WR are named “white-cloaked goddeses,” and use weapons imbued with alchemical power that prevent people from awakening as witches or demons. The only way to achieve this treatment is the surgical removal of the third eye, a very complex surgery that can be done only by WR.

We also meet three of these goddeses, Gabrielle, Sophie and Lisa, and the leader of WR Theodor.

On top of that, we learn more about the game’s mechanics. Hundred Knight can use five weapons: swords, hammers, chandeliers, spears and scythes. Each has its own differences in reach, speed and attack power. It’s possible to equip them all at the same time, and set up combos with five hits each of which can have a different weapon.

Hundred Knight can also wear different suits of armor named “Facet,” each with different statistics. They can be switched dynamically during battle to fight enemies in the most suitable ways. Each facet is also better to wield a certain weapon. For instance “Wonder Knight” is good for swords, while “Power Fortress” is perfect for hammers.

Each facet is equipped with a variety of unique skills, both active and passive. Skills can be acquired and enhanced with skill points.

Hundred Knight can also trigger a special attack named “ope time” by defeating enemies with a 5-hit combo. Using ope time will cost adrenaline points (AP) and restore giga calories. Giga calories are Hundred Knight’s own energy, represented by a blood transfusion bag on the UI. When they run out, he enters a weakened state.

By dodging an enemy attack at the very last second, a “mystical dodge” will be triggered, making Hundred Knight invincible for a limited time.
