During a snowy night in 2012, in front of tens of thousands of fans, the popular idol Haruka Sawamura confesses her secret: “I belong to Kazuma Kiryu’s family.” In that moment, she declared her true dream in front of everyone.
At the same time, Kazuma Kiryu, nicknamed “The Dragon of the Dojima Family” has finally solved the conflict involving the Yakuza of the five major cities of Japan. Under the falling snow they reunited, and they were supposed to live happily ever after, but…
After his battles, Kazuma Kiryu was determined to have a honest life among the children of his Sunshine orphanage in Okinawa. Three years in prison were the price to pay for happiness, but during that time things went awry.
Haruka shocked everyone by quitting her career in the show business. The public reacted in a harsher way than ste predicted, and poor girl was continuously facing slander. The self-righteous personal attacks started to affect the kids of the Sunshine orphanage, and Haruka was continuously reminded of the consequences of her naive actions.
In 2016, Kazuma Kiryu was finally released from prison, and he was informed by the children of the Sunshine orphanage of the dire situation. Haruka had disappeared. She was so worried about adversely affecting the children, that she suddenly vanished.
After returning to Okinawa, Kazuma was feeling ashamed for having failed to predict that terrible situation.
Kazuma started to investigate Haruka’s whereabouts, and he drifted towards Kamurocho in Tokyo. However, even after requesting the help of an old friend, he didn’t manage to find a lead.
When he was about to give in to despair, he received a call from his old friend, Detective Makoto Date, and he was told that Haruka was involved in traffic accident and was in a coma. Kazuma could not believe it.
Kazuma was overwhelmed by the sight of Haruka sleeping on the hospital bed. In the meanwhile, he found out that she had been in Hiroshima during the period in which she was nowhere to be found. More precisely, she visited the district of Jingacho in the the fishing town of Onomichi, east of Hiroshima.
Jingacho was the home turf of an independent regional organization called Himei Alliance, that even the Tojo Clan or the Omi Alliance could not touch.
Onomichi was uncharted territory for Kazuma Kiryu, beyond the reach of the Tojo Clan. Why did Haruka go to Hiroshima? Did her accident really happen by chance? Ignoring danger, he walked into Onimichi, a town with an unique atmosphere, where the locals seemed to have something to hide.
