PS4 Firmware Update 2.01 Now Available; Patch Notes and Download Size Revealed

on November 5, 2014 3:44 AM

Sony Computer Entertainment just made the 2.01 Firmware Update for the PS4 available for download over the PSN.

The download is pretty light, weighing about 217.2 megabytes, and will either start automatically if you’ve set your PS4 to update in rest mode, or can be activated through Settings>System Software Update.

Below you can check out the full patch notes, which aren’t really all that complex.

According to earlier notices, the “stability improvements” are related to the problems some users were experiencing when placing the console in rest mode.

Hopefully the almost regular need to “patch the patch” every time Sony releases a major update will persuade the house of PlayStation to consider a measure way to let users test new versions of the firmware before release in the future.
