PS4 and PS3 Get Free Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Themes; Screenshots Inside

on July 3, 2015 3:53 PM

Those who pre-ordered Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward in North America and Europe got a bonus theme for their PS4, but without much fanfare, a completely free and different theme has actually been released on the Japanese PSN.

The theme can be found here (there’s also a PS3 version here). In order to access the Japanese store you need to be logged into a Japanese PSN account (There are several guides online on how to make one), or at least to be logged out from your western account. Alternatively you can access the links via an incognito window. In any case you’ll need a Japanese account to download the theme. Once it’s installed on your PS4, you’ll be able to use it with all your accounts.

The theme was released a few days ago, but it went under the radar until now. It’s static, but features the beautiful Japanese cover art by Kazuya Takahashi, and lovely custom music in the form of Ishgard’s theme. Considering the fact that the price is zero, it’s definitely worth a download.

You can check two screenies above and below, directly from my PS4.
