PS4 Instantly Skyrockets to First Place on Amazon’s Best Sellers Chart on Japanese Launch

on February 21, 2014 10:07 AM

The PS4 was just launched in Japan a handful of minutes ago, but looks like undergoing shipments are already affecting the best sellers charts on the local branch of Amazon, where the camera-less version skyrocketed to the top.

On the other hand, the bundle with the camera is proving somewhat less popular, climbing up only to 12th place.

While the console seems to be selling like hotcakes, the much bigger installed base of the PS3 seems to be weighing on cross-generation games, with the old-gen version of Yakuza Ishin beating the PS4 version soundly (2nd place against 7th), while the gap between preorders of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is narrower, with the PS3 version inching the PS4 one by one position.

One thing is for sure: the Media Create hardware charts that will be released next Wednesday will be definitely interesting. Feel free to place your bets in the comments below.
