PS4 Pro Boost Mode From System Software Update 4.5 Showcased in Plenty of Videos

The new "Boost mode" for PS4 Pro does exactly what it says on the tin, coming with PS4 system software update 4.5.

PS4 system software update 4.5 will come with a “Boost Mode” on PS4 pro, literally attempting to give a “boost” to games with unlocked frame rates and variable resolution, by actually applying to them the additional power of the new-ish console.

Many have been posting video of said games, as they test the new mode to see if things are more fluid.

It’s worth mentioning, before you head below to watch the videos, that the improvements provided by Boost Mode are limited, and they definitely don’t equate to those included in games specifically coded for PS4 Pro.

It won’t push resolution past the original caps, nor it will add any detail or specific features, as no additional code is present in the games to support it.

The option actually warns users against the possibility of malfunctions caused by running on a hardware setup for which the games weren’t originally developed.
