Today, GfK Chart-Track revealed that the PS4 posted its most successful week since its launch, largely thanks to Black Friday and the substantial price cuts to the hardware.

Further, according to Games Industry the Xbox One shipped around 50,000 during the commercial holiday period, while the PS4 came in at 142,578 units. However, UKIE and GfK Chart-Track did not reveal any specifics, nor did it reveal how the Xbox One did, so these particular figures should be taken with a grain of salt.

The PS4 found so much success as the under £200 bundle flew off shelves, that it was able to have an impact even on the software charts: pole-vaulting Uncharted 4: A Thief's End up to the number eight spot, while Ratchet & Clank slide in at number 25. You can read about the full software charts for this past week in the UK here.

What will be interesting to see is if the holiday period was enough for PS4 to regain control of the NPD charts for the month of November and prevent Xbox One's fifth straight victory.
