PS4 Sales in Japan Reach Three Millions Milestone

on July 13, 2016 10:43 AM

Today’s Media Create figures combined with historical data reveal that the PS4 has finally reached and overtaken three million units sold in its Japanese home turf.

To be more precise, the console sold 22,717 units in the last week, reaching a grand total of 3,000,477 sold since its launch on February 22nd, 2014.

At this rate, it appears it might overtake the Wii U before the release of the NX. Nintendo’s home console did fairly well this week, improving its sales considerably to 15,470 (from 4,444) last week, thanks to a new Splatoon bundle, but it’s total lifetime sales of 3,213,958 certainly don’t seem to be unreachable.
