Last week, an image surfaced on the internet showing of packaging for a gold PS4 Slim edition via Reddit, where one user claimed the console was poised to launch on June 9th. Now, a new Target weekly ad for the week of June 11 has popped up showing off the game PS4 Slim Gold Edition, describing the unofficial console as a “limited” 1TB model.
Below, you can view the ad for yourself:
As of right now, Sony has yet to officially announce anything or weigh in on the rumors, thus it is best to take the ad with a grain of salt until said confirmation arrives. However, this wouldn’t be the first time Target has leaked out some substantial PlayStation news before Sony had the chance to make an official announcement: as you may remember, it let the cat out of the bag on the PS4 price drop back in 2015.
Obviously, the PS4 Slim Gold Edition is the big news; however, the add also shows that more Nintendo Switch stock is inbound, and that some of 2017’s biggest releases — such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, Resident Evil VI, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Prey, and MLB The Show 17, will be discounted $20 to the price-point of $39.99 USD.
If the ad is legit and accurate, that would mean Sony should be announcing the model very soon, as time before June 11th is quickly running out.
