Announced via the PlayStation Blog, Sony will be bringing an update soon for PS4 owners, one that adds some much requested features.

The first of which will be a “rich video editor,” one that allows players to personalize their video clips and export and save videos and screenshots created to a USB drive via the SHARE button. The second option will allow players to use a “HDCP off” option when capturing gameplay via HDMI, so that gamers can record and share longer clips of their gameplay sessions.

Besides these updates — and some others coming down the line — will be a separate system software update that will allow Twitch broadcasts to be archived and to be viewed at a higher resolution of 720p, two more highly requested features that Sony is working on now with Twitch and Ustream.

More information will be coming in the weeks ahead, so stay tuned for more details.
