Today Kadokawa Games released a batch of new screenshots of √Letter (Root Letter), its mystery visual novel scheduled for a Japanese release for PS4 and PS Vita this spring, and a launch worldwide some time this year.

Interestingly, the screenshots show how the game reproduces real locations and people of the Shimane prefecture, that serves as the setting.

On top of the pictures, we also get a trailer for an event that will be held in Matsue (Shimane Prefecture’s capital city), co-sponsored by a local TV and by the local tourism association. During the event, attendees will be chosen with a lottery to have their likeness included in the game.

Among the screenshots below you can see landmarks like Matsue’s iconic castle, the Ichibata electric railway and a local snack shop popular among students named Marukoshi.
