Back in December, Bandai Namco announced SD Gundam: G Generation Genesis for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. Today the publisher announced both a release date and the cancellation of the PS3 version.

The game will be released in Japan on November 22nd, for PS4 and PS Vita only. The price will be 8,200  and 7,600 yen plus taxes respectively. Incidentally, the PS Vita version will use two cartridges due to the volume of data included in the game. As far as I know, this is the first time this kind of solution is adopted.

A trailer and new screenshots were also released, and you can enjoy them below. The theme song featured in the trailer is Eisei No Cradle (The Cradle of Eternity), performed by Yuuko Suzuhana.

This is, at least to my knowledge, the first Japanese cross-gen game that gets its PS3 version canceled. Apparently, Japanese publishers are just about ready to let the PS3 go to focus on newer platforms.
