The latest issue of the Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu, published today, had an article about the upcoming JRPG by Square Enix Setsuna of Sacrifice and Snow (Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna), releasing in Japan for PS4 and PS Vita on February 18th.

We get to catch the first glimpse on a mysterious new character, called “Ogama no Otoko,” which literally means “Scythe Man,” quite obviously after his weapon of choice.

On top of that, we also see several of the magic spells that will be available in the game, from the defensive “wall” to the devastating “fire pit.” Their powers will be unlocked by equipping gems that are quite similar to a Materia system from Final Fantasy VII.

Check them out below, and remember that we’re looking at magazine scans, so the quality isn’t exceptional.

Update: Square Enix released direct feed version of some of the screenshots.
