Bandai Namco released a large batch of new screenshots of Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, showing quite a few elements of the game, releasing in Japan on October 27th and this fall in the west.

We get to see the starting city, where it’s possible to make friends and deepen the relationship with other characters. By improving the friendship level with the heroines it’s possible to walk hand-in-hand or even to carry them princess-style. It’s also possible to see events that will show some interesting hidden sides of each heroine (and if you’re wondering about the white stuff, that’s just Mochi rice cake paste).

We also get a look at the equipment screen and at the various kinds of weapons available in the game: longsword, broadswords, rapiers, greatswords, spears, battleaxes, daggers, and maces. On the armor side, it’ll be possible to equip a large amount of different suits, and all will change the character’s appearance.

There are more than 300 NPCs that can actually be recruited as companions. It’ll be possible to increase the level of friendship through conversation, and provide them with equipment that they will use in battle.

On top of that, we also get to see two locations and several monsters, including a boss.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
