It's been a long time coming, but it seems as though we might have a near-finalized date on when Sony is planning to hold a new event dedicated to the PS5.Multiple reports surfaced this morning claiming that Sony is looking to hold a PS5 event next week on Wednesday, June 3. The first report of this information came from Bloomberg, where it was specified that while this June 3 date is currently what is being planned for, the event time could change rapidly. As such, this is likely why Sony hasn't officially announced the PS5 conference just yet until it is certain of everything on its end.

Not much later, VentureBeat followed up with a new report of its own sharing similar information that Sony is tentatively set to hold a PS5 conference on June 3. Previously, VentureBeat was an outlet that reported Sony's plans to hold an event of some sort in early June. Now, it seems as though the publication has gleaned new information that has pointed specifically to this June 3 date.

The fact that two independent outlets have reported on the same time and date for this PS5 event seems to indicate that this information is quite accurate. Again, changes could be made at the eleventh hour, but where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

If Sony is set to hold a PS5 conference of some sort next week, you would imagine that we would hear about it very, very soon. In the interim, Sony and Naughty Dog are set to stream a new episode of State of Play later today which will focus entirely on The Last of Us Part II.
