After months of anticipation, Sony has finally revealed when it will be holding the PS5 event that we've all been waiting for.Over on the PlayStation Blog today, Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO, Jim Ryan, announced that the long-awaited conference dedicated to the PS5 will occur on Thursday, June 4. Previously, we had heard reports that this conference was set to take place on June 3, but it seems as though the date shifted at the last minute. The stream will be featured on the official PlayStation website and will kick off at 4:00pm EST/1:00pm PST.As for what will be featured in this stream, Ryan made clear that PS5 games will be shown off in full during this presentation. "That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday," Ryan said on the PlayStation Blog. "The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware."And in terms of how long this will last, Ryan also said that the stream is slated to take place for a little over an hour. Previously, it seems as though Sony planned for this event to take place in a typical, live event format, but due to the events that have transpired this year as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it will now be all-digital.Lastly, Ryan also made clear that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to PS5 events and information this year. "This is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you," Ryan stated. All in all, it sounds like it's going to be a massive day for Sony and the PlayStation 5, so it's time to get excited. If you can't tune into the presentation for yourself, we'll keep you up to date with all the biggest pieces of news here on DualShockers once the event transpires.
