You may have heard that today is the launch of the PS5. Fans all over the globe, except Europe of course, are starting to receive Sony's next-gen console, ushering in a new era of gaming. One of those fans is A/V Media Designer Corey Cudney, who when pre-orders were live, managed to secure a digital version of the PS5. Or so he thought.Ordered from PlayStation directly, Corey's PS5 was delivered promptly by FedEx this morning. In anticipation, he opened the box but something was awry. Rather than the digital console he was expecting, Corey, in fact, received a standard PS5 in the box.

After speaking to Corey, we have confirmed that he did receive the standard console in place of the digital one. Corey said that while he was "initially super confused to unwrap it from the box" he still has some PS4 discs "that are happy to see the mistake." Although he specifically ordered the digital only console because he liked the look of it better, Corey said: "I honestly don't see how I could be mad with it, it’s the more expensive version so I’m alright with the mixup!"

In this moment of fortune, Corey did indeed get the more expensive console, with the standard version retailing at $100 more than its digital counterpart. Here's hoping that nobody who ordered the standard console gets Corey's digital version in its place.
