The official Twitter account for PlayStation announced that a new PS5 reveal is happening on March 18. An in-depth look at PlayStation 5 and its inner system architecture will be delivered. The reveal will happen at 9 AM Pacific Time (Click here for a timezone conversion table). The reveal will be handled by Mark Cerny, the lead system architect for PS5, whose name even a weeb like me who only remembers Japanese developers' names know.

It's unclear whether the PS5 reveal will be happening via a live stream or a simple blog post, but it's implied to be the former, seeing the tweet tells us to "watch" it. Links to YouTube, Twitch and the like will probably go up on PlayStation Blog a few hours before the reveal happens.

Seeing the current circumstances the world is in, Microsoft revealed a few hours ago all the technical details of the Xbox Series X, not through a real-life event or conference, but through a blog post by Xbox Wire editor-in-chief Will Tuttle. We most notably learned Xbox Series X will feature expandable SSD storage. So it's not surprising to see Sony is pulling a similar move. You can read the previously revealed details on PS5 along with some of its (speculated) games here. The console is most notably supposed to feature backward compatibility.
