By now, you're probably aware of who Travis Scott is. He's been incredibly prominent in the gaming world this year but was also revealed in 2018 to be working on the NBA 2K19 soundtrack. Now he's going to be a Strategic Creative Partner for Sony PlayStation in a new collaboration with a fancy new PS5 trailer to kick things off.

Earlier this year, the musician held a live concert inside of Epic Games' Fortnite. It saw 12.3 million concurrent players on the first night, and in total saw 27.7 million unique viewers. And then a month ago he shared an image on Instagram showing off his TV and speaker set-up with a cheeky appearance of the DualSense controller in his lap.

Now, Sony PlayStation has revealed that Travis Scott is joining the PlayStation family as a strategic creative partner. To announce this he's released an official video along with a statement on PlayStation Blog.

The video features him in the very room his Instagram photo shows off. However, it starts by introducing three people, apparently named "Platform", "Engineering", and "Design". These three people are some of the key folk that worked on different aspects of the PS5. They show off their Cactus Jack —Travis Scott's brand— sneakers before the video cuts to show Travis in a similar framing to the iconic Steven Steigman photograph —later put to film— for Hitachi Maxwell that features a man slouched in a chair as the power of audio rushes past him.

Obviously, to keep it modern, Travis Scott is showing off the PS5 with a weird ambiance noise playing throughout. The "power" of the PS5 blows his furniture about, but he's more focused on holding the DualSense with...pleasure?

"I’m really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team." Travis said in a statement on the blog, "Most importantly I’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon!"

Sony says that it's excited to be "collaborating with Travis and his Cactus Jack brand to produce innovative projects that we hope will delight our collective fans." It'll be interesting to see exactly what will come from this collaboration, but I assume we'll see a bunch of weird trailers? Either way, the PS5 console is slated to launch on November 12.
