The bigger the firmware numbers get on the PSP, the more astonished I am at how long the handheld has managed to stay afloat this long. It's been out for about four years or so going on five, and it has been able to hold its own against Nintendo where other handhelds have failed. And the thing continues to grow strong by adding new features in just every major update, keeping PSPers satisfied.

For you PSP owners out there, you'll be happy to hear that a new firmware update is available for download. Why should it matter? Because the darn thing comes packed with a new feature that probably most comic book fans will find appealing: the Digital Comic Reader. The latest firmware update (v6.20) doesn't only give you the ability to read your comics digitally on the go, if that isn't your thing; the new update also allows folks to export video and photo playlists directly to your PC (which can only be done once you've downloaded the Media Go update, however).

Unfortunately, the only downside of reading comics on your PSP now is that you'll only be able to read Marvel stuff. Not a bad thing if you're genuinely a Marvel fan. However, if you're more of a DC kind of guy and would love to read Batman whilst on the train, you're pretty much screwed. I'm sure someone will figure out a way to "fix" this issue in the coming months, but, for now, I'm glad I could read me some Captain America on the train. Let's see how everyone else feels about this feature, eh?
