SONY’S PlayStation 5 Virtual Reality headset is expected to launch during 2022, and here’s how you can be first in line for a PSVR 2 Pre-Order.

Anyone interested in buying a PSVR 2 can sign up to be notified when the PlayStation pre-order process has begun.

As of right now, no one is able to pre-purchase a PlayStation VR 2 headset. However, things are expected to change over the coming months as we get closer to the official release date reveal.

Sony has already shared a lot of information regarding its plans for PS5 Virtual Reality, including what the next headset is capable of.

The PSVR 2 looks to be a true upgrade, boasting new features that will boost performance across nearly all areas.

PlayStation VR 2 Specs

PSVR 2 is aiming to offer 4K HDR, 110-degree field of view, with an OLED display. This means players can enjoy a display resolution of 2000×2040 per eye and frame rates hitting 90/120Hz. Another important feature will be the Headset-based Controller Tracking that uses integrated cameras embedded in the VR headset.

Tracking is done without the need for an external camera, which will reduce clunkiness. Immersion tech is also boosted and could help open up the PSVR 2 to an audience that has struggled with motion sickness.

“Gamers can feel a character’s elevated pulse during tense moments, the rush of objects passing close to the character’s head, or the thrust of a vehicle as the character speeds forward,” a statement from Sony explains.

Anything that improves immersion and helps trick the brain into believing what it is seeing will make it more accessible.

How to sign up for PSVR 2 Pre-Order Notification

Sony has confirmed that anyone who wants to be first to know when the PSVR 2 pre-orders have started can sign up via its official website. The link can be found above and you will need to log into the official website using your PSN account, followed by choosing the sign-up option.

This option does not guarantee you a pre-order but does make it possible to receive all the latest news via email. It’s unclear if this will help cut down on scalpers but will provide a stable platform for gamers to use.
