A new PSVR reddit thread indicates that a significant number of users are currently experiencing problems with the right Sense controller of the recently launched PSVR 2, with several complaints about unresponsive buttons. Users are sharing possible solutions, but there has yet to be an official response from Sony.

The Sense controllers, also known as PSVR 2 controllers, are personalized input tools that come with the PSVR 2 virtual reality headset, replacing the PlayStation Move controllers used in the first version of VR. Each Sense controller has two of the four iconic buttons (circle, cross, triangle, and square), an analog stick, and an L1 or R1 button, as well as a share button on the left controller.

The thread contains an extensive catalog of potential solutions to unresponsive buttons, based on contributions from many users. These remedies start with resetting the console and controllers, followed by enabling and disabling feedback from the settings, disabling and re-enabling the trigger effect, re-syncing the controllers via the USB cable, and finally, remapping and hard pressing the buttons.

The thread also reports that certain games, such as Gran Turismo 7, Tetris Effect, Thumper, Pistol Whip, and Kayak VR, work well and are not affected by the Sense issues. One user suggestion that received the most votes was to turn off the Sense controllers, start the game with the DualSense controller first, and then turn on the Sense controllers while in the game. Additionally, some users are reporting that both the left and right Sense controllers are affected, not just the right one.

Others have contacted Sony for support, and one user has received a response from Sony's Czech Republic office. The fix is quite extensive and involves 11 steps, including clearing the console's cache in safe mode and resetting the controllers with a pin, then connecting and powering up the two controllers at the same time. A few are reporting that even this fix doesn't work, and are still looking for workarounds for each specific game.

The PSVR 2 is now available to buy in stores, and Sony has already announced that more than 40 games, both old and new, will be released this year for the new virtual reality platform.
