It has been a long time coming, but we finally have some more details on Psychonauts 2. Debuting in the Xbox Games Showcase, we got some brand new gameplay footage and a cameo appearance from Jack Black. Seriously.

After announcing its acquisition by Microsoft last year at E3 2019, Double Fine returned to take part in the Xbox Games Showcase this year with new footage of Psychonauts 2 in tow. The latest trailer for the game shows off more of Raz and friends on their latest mission which takes place after the events of Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin. We also get a new look at some of the various platforming and combat that Psychonauts 2 will offer, and it looks pretty spectacular.

Take a look at the Psychonauts 2 trailer below, with a musical appearance from Jack Black:

Another note, we saw that Psychonauts 2 is going to take part in the Smart Delivery option -- which means that anyone getting the game on Xbox One will be able to freely upgrade to the Xbox Series X version. It's a great consumer option and one that Microsoft has been encouraging that developers opt into.

Despite now being part of Xbox Game Studios, Psychonauts 2 will still be coming to all of the platforms that Double Fine committed to when the project was first announced. It will be arriving on PS4, Xbox One, and PC later this year.
