Today's Stadia Connect brought a lot of announcements with it, but nothing compared to this bomb. PUBG, the first battle royale title to make it big, is now dropping on Stadia. That means if you have Stadia Pro right now, you can use your chrome browser, phone, tablet, pretty much any device with a screen, and start playing right now. If you're a free Stadia user, you'll have to pay $30 for the base game or $40 to bundle the game and its current season pass.

While PUBG is already available on consoles and on mobile devices, this is the first time you'll be able to play the battle royale title on other devices with cross-platform play.

While this news is exciting, to some it may be a bit worrying. It opens up the potential of players using a mouse and keyboard facing off against controller bound console players. Thankfully, a member of the Stadia team has clarified to us that on Stadia you can only cross-play with console players when using a controller. If you're using a keyboard and mouse, you'll only be matched with other Stadia users.

PUBG on Stadia was announced with a second neat feature - click to play. By simply clicking on this link, you'll launch into the game, that is, if you're a Stadia user. If you're not, the link should bring you to a Stadia sign-up page.

If you're looking to get into Google's streaming platform, it's currently free to start playing. In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Google is also giving away two months of Stadia Pro for free, meaning you could start playing PUBG and a ton of other titles right now for no cost. Just make sure you've got a good internet connection and download speed.
