With rampant rumors and speculation of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds finally arriving to the PlayStation 4, the apparent response from Microsoft, possibly a coincidence, is making PUBG free on Xbox One for a limited time. Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 will also be free-to-play at the same time, leading up to the X018 event this weekend.

Some Xbox One users should be able to download the games starting today, although the officially announced period is from November 8 to 11. I myself am able to access PUBG page on the Xbox Marketplace website, with the game installing on my console at the time of this writing.

Microsoft has promised some PUBG-related news for X018, but with the game only being free the weekend of the event, a possible, permanent free-to-play announcement to gain excitement for their version of the popular battle royale game seems unlikely. At the very least, the team behind PUBG is still adding bold new content like, uh, skins based on the Suicide Squad movie versions of Joker and Harley Quinn?

We'll have to wait until X018, which annoys me for not being called "X18," takes place this Saturday, November 10 in Mexico City.
