Some say Valentine's day is the most romantic time of the year but for one Reddit user, and many others, Christmas is the perfect time to get down on one knee beneath all that mistletoe and fairy lights to ask the most important question in a relationship - other than "What do you want for dinner?", but that kind of question is stepping into dangerous territory.

User u/KevlarGorilla took to Reddit yesterday to showcase how charming and thoughtful of a partner he is by not only purchasing a beautiful diamond ring for his better half but also making her a replica of The Mermaid's Pendant from Stawdew Valley as she's a huge fan of the title. He stated the great lengths he went to make this pendant as perfect as could be by obtaining a seashell off the coast of Ireland and then "blanched it, dyed it, painted it, and put it on a chain, and then asked the jeweler I got the ring from for a pendant box."

For anyone who hasn't played Stardew Valley, the Mermaid's Pendant is is an item obtained in-game for 5,000g after you have reached 10 hearts with a romanceable villager. The pendant is then used to marry said character. See, romance certainly isn't dead folks.

In other news regarding Stardew Valley, developer Eric Barone took to a blog to talk about his new project, the future, and how he "keeps getting new ideas for ways to improve and expand upon the game".

Stardew Valley is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux, while a PS Vita version of the game is also in development.
