Today, Sega announced a new Puyo Puyo game is coming. It's titled Puyo Puyo eSports and will launch in Japan on October 25th for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

The game is digital only and will be priced 1999 Yen, taxes included. It's also sponsored by JeSU, the Japanese eSports Union, which was formed after merging multiple Japanese eSport organizations in early 2018. The low price was decided so that as many people as possible can play it, helping the Puyo Puyo competitive scene to grow even larger.

Puyo Puyo eSports will let up to four players compete locally or online, using either Puyo Puyo 2 rules or Puyo Puyo Fever rules and will feature 24 playable characters. The game will be playable at Tokyo game Show 2018.

An arcade version, also tentatively titled Puyo Puyo eSports, is scheduled to launch at an unspecified date.

Puyo Puyo eSports will launch in Japan for PS4 and Switch on October 25th. A western release hasn't been announced for now.
